Internal Staff Education and Outreach
The Healthcare Heroes AID Program Coordinator will visit Hartford Hospital, one of Connecticut’s designated trauma centers, to provide educational outreach on the dangers and consequences of impaired driving. The session will aim to raise awareness among hospital staff and patients’ families, featuring educational materials on blood alcohol concentration (BAC) levels and their effects on impairment. The outreach will also promote safe alternatives to driving under the influence, such as arranging a rideshare, designating a sober driver, or staying overnight. Interactive activities using drunk goggles will be included to demonstrate the real-life impact of alcohol impairment.
