Event Details

In collaboration with five key hospital departments—Trauma Services, Emergency Department, PICU/Burn Unit, Social Work, and 4 North Nursing—this event aims to promote safety and wellness during the holiday season. Each department will host an educational table focusing on critical topics that impact our patients, families, and community during this busy time of year. The goal of this initiative is to raise awareness, prevent injuries, and promote overall well-being by addressing common risks and stressors associated with the holidays. Educational Topics Include: Gun Safety: Preventing firearm injuries as more families gather in homes. Infection Prevention: Tips to minimize the spread of germs and reduce unnecessary hospital visits. SIDS & Safe Sleep: Promoting safe sleep practices for infants while families are busy with holiday preparations. Emotional Well-Being: Supporting mental health and reducing self-harm risks during a time of heightened stress and loneliness. Burn Safety: Preventing burns related to hot food, candles, and Christmas tree hazards. Fall Prevention: Keeping homes safe by reducing clutter and ensuring decorations are placed safely. To provide families and staff with accessible, practical education to keep everyone safe, healthy, and supported throughout the holiday season.
